Our Thanksgiving

It was just Steve, the boys and me for Thanksgiving this year so we decided to go back to the hotel we stayed in last Thanksgiving and over the 4th of July weekend this past summer. The boys love the pool and hot tub there! Also, it's just exciting to get away from home for a couple days too. We had a great time at the hotel. The boys did SO much swimming, it was unbelievable! Greyson loves the water more than any kid I have ever known. Cael liked it too, but for him, when he had enough, he was done. I don't think Greyson could EVER have enough of the pool!

On Thanksgiving day we went to Cracker Barrell for dinner. Surprisingly, we only waited about 10 minutes and were served rather quickly. Steve and I both ordered the Thanksgiving meal special. It was actually very good and quite inexpensive. For $8.99, we got two slices of turkey with gravy, sweet potatoes, cranberries, stuffing, one additional side and a slice of pie. It was great not having to worry about the clean up afterwards but not so great that we didn't have any turkey left overs.

Overall, we all had a wonderful time! I hope everyone else had a very blessed Thanksgiving as well!!! :)

Here are some pictures...

Happy Birthday and Happy Halloween!!

Well, Greyson's birthday was October 30th, so we celebrated his birthday and Halloween back to back, as we usually do each year. We just had a very small party for him, only family. My mom was here visiting, so she was there to celebrate with him. The Wednesday before his birthday, I sent cupcakes to church and they had a little party for him during Awana that night. We told him he could choose anything he wanted for his birthday dinner and he chose Taco Pie (a favorite around here), baby carrots and chips and salsa. He also asked for a white cake with vanilla frosting and he wanted it decorated with Clifford the Big Red Dog (Greyson LOVES Clifford!). After dinner, Greyson opened his presents...he got LOTS of great stuff!! He got a couple of interactive dinosaurs that he and Cael both love (thanks Grandma Diane and Grandpa Dave!), he got some cars, a race track, trains, a Clifford dvd and a board game. He also got a brand new swing set...well actually, that's for Cael and him both. It's become their new favorite obsession! After he opened his presents, we had cake and ice cream. Greyson and Cael (and Steve) spent the rest of the evening enjoying all the new gifts. It was a fun and special birthday!

Our church had a Harvest Party on Halloween and the big event there was 'trunk or treating'. That's when everyone participating parks their cars side by side in the parking lot and fills up their trunks with candy. The kids walk by in their costumes and say, "trunk or treat!" and they are given candy. It was really so much fun and so much safer than trick or treating door to door! Greyson wanted to pass out candy for a little while at home before we took off for the church. He got his costume on (Clifford the Big Red Dog) and he and I sat outside with a basket of candy waiting for trick or treaters...we actually didn't get very many, I think many others must have gone to Harvest Parties too. After we finished with that, we got Cael dressed up in his costume (Mickey Mouse) and headed to the church. It was a lot of fun there! They had blow up bounceables, games, food and lots of candy...not to mention trunk or treating! The kids really had a great time there. Here are some birthday and Halloween pictures...
