Happenings

Wow! What a busy month! First off, the ladies at church had a diaper pounding and a baby shower for me at the church. Both were absolute blessings!! I think we counted over 1500 diapers TOTAL that Brinsley received...ranging from sizes newborn through size 5. She even got a package of pull-ups! Hopefully, we won't be buying diapers for her EVER! Her shower was incredible! Her closet is now completely full of the cutest outfits you've ever seen. It was so exciting to open up all of those precious little girly outfits and items.

Shortly after that, Steve and I took a group of teens from church to camp...Word of Life Youth Camp in Hudson, FL (just outside Tampa). We had a great time! A couple of our teens made professions of faith and others rededicated themselves to the Lord and made other serious commitments as well.

We took Brinsley to the dr. to get her very first shot...that's always tough to do. The dr. told us that she is in the 50th percentile for her weight and the 90th for her height. Steve tells everyone, "she's tall and thin, just like me!" :) She now weighs 9 lbs 6 oz. She is growing and changing so much! Greyson had to get one final shot as well in order to complete his immunization record and be admitted into kindergarten in the fall. I still can't believe he's going to be starting school!!

On July 2nd, we had to say goodbye to my mom as she headed back to Michigan. That was extremely hard to see her go, even though she is coming back in just a few weeks. She was a HUGE blessing to us while she was here. She helped take care of the kids, make dinner, clean, etc. She is an amazing mom and grandma and I am so thankful to have her in my life and in the lives of my children.

Over 4th of July weekend, we took the kids to a hotel with a pool and hot tub. They had a really good time. They played for hours in the pool and we took them to an arcade where they had even more fun. They let off firecrackers and lit sparklers too. Greyson loved it but Cael was a little scared when Steve lit his sparkler. He didn't want to have anything to do with it. Greyson, on the other hand, would have lit sparklers all night!

Next week is our Vacation Bible School at church and I have been somewhat busy this week getting things ready for that. Please pray that all goes well! This is my second year directing VBS and I really love doing it...I just always get nervous as the date approaches. Our theme this year is 'Outrigger Island'. It is really going to be a great time and I'm looking forward to it.

Below are some pictures...
